Spain's economy contracts third quarter in a row

MADRID (AP) ? Spain's National Statistics Institute says the Spanish economy remains mired in recession after contracting 0.4 percent in the second quarter of the year from the previous three month period.

It was the third consecutive contraction following the previous two 0.3 percent quarterly declines.

A technical recession is commonly defined as two consecutive quarters of economic contraction.

The institute said Monday the second quarter decline was due to negative domestic demand, compensated somewhat by an increase in exports.

Spain with near 25 percent unemployment is struggling to avoid having to seek a financial bailout, as Greece, Ireland and Portugal have already done.

Unnatural Selection: Muscles, Genes and Genetic Cheats

Can specific genes cause muscles to grow faster or stronger, and can genetic tampering give athletes an unnatural edge?

Take a close look at the athletes competing in this year's Summer Olympic Games in London?their musculature will tell you a lot about how they achieved their elite status. Endless hours of training and commitment to their sport played a big role in building the bodies that got them to the world's premier athletic competition. Take an even closer look?this one requires microscopy?and you'll see something else, something embedded in the genetic blueprints of these young men and women that's just as important to their success.

In nearly all cases, these athletes have realized the full potential laid out by those genes. And that potential may be much greater to begin with than it was for the rest of us mortals. For instance, the genes in the cells that make up sprinter Tyson Gay's legs were encoded with special instructions to build up lots of fast-fiber muscles, giving his legs explosive power out of the starting blocks. In comparison, the maximum contraction velocity of marathoner Shalane Flanagan's leg muscles, as dictated by her genes, is much slower than Gay's yet optimized for the endurance required to run for hours at a time with little tiring. Such genetic fine-tuning also helps competitors in basketball, volleyball and synchronized swimming, although the impact might be much less because effective teamwork and officiating also influence success in those sports.

When the gun goes off for the 100-meter sprint, when swimmers Michael Phelps and Ian Thorpe hit the water, when Tom Daley leaps from his diving platform, we will be seeing the finest that the world's gene pool has to offer, even though scientists are still trying to figure out which genes those are. Unfortunately, history dictates that we may also see the finest in gene manipulation, as some athletes push for peak performance with the help of illegal substances that are becoming increasingly difficult to detect.

The skinny on muscles
The human body produces two types of skeletal muscle fibers?slow-twitch (type 1) and fast-twitch (type 2). The fast-twitch fibers contract many times faster and with more force than the slow-twitch ones do, but they also fatigue more quickly. Each of these muscle types can be further broken down into subcategories, depending on contractile speed, force and fatigue resistance. Type 2B fast-twitch fibers, for example, have a faster contraction time than type 2A.

Muscles can be converted from one subcategory to another but cannot be converted from one type to another. This means that endurance training can give type 2B muscle some of the fatigue-resistant characteristics of type 2A muscle and that weight training can give type 2A muscle some of strength characteristics of type 2B muscle. Endurance training, however, will not convert type 2 muscle to type 1 nor will strength training convert slow-twitch muscle to fast. Endurance athletes have a greater proportion of slow-twitch fibers, whereas sprinters and jumpers have more of the fast-twitch variety.

Just as we can alter our muscle mix only to a certain degree, muscle growth is also carefully regulated in the body. One difference between muscle composition and size, however, is that the latter can more easily be manipulated. Insulinlike growth factor 1 (IGF-1) is both a gene and the protein it expresses that plays an important role during childhood growth and stimulates anabolic effects?such as muscle building?when those children become adults. IGF-1 controls muscle growth with help from the myostatin (MSTN) gene, which produces the myostatin protein.

More than a decade ago H. Lee Sweeney, a molecular physiologist at the University of Pennsylvania, led a team of researchers who used genetic manipulation to create the muscle-bound "Schwarzenegger mice". Mice injected with an extra copy of the IGF-1 gene added muscle and became as much as 30 percent stronger. Sweeney concluded that it is very likely that differences in a person's IGF-1 and MSTN protein levels determine his or her ability to put on muscle when exercising, although he admits this scenario has not been studied widely.

Slow-fiber muscle growth and endurance can likewise be controlled through gene manipulation. In August 2004 a team of researchers that included the Salk Institute for Biological Study's Ronald Evans reported that they altered a gene called PPAR-Delta to enhance its activity in mice, helping nurture fatigue-resistant slow-twitch muscles. These so-called "marathon mice" could run twice as far and for nearly twice as long as their unmodified counterparts.

This demonstrated ability to tinker with either fast- or slow-twitch muscle types begs the question: What would happen if one were to introduce genes for building both fast- and slow-twitch muscle in an athlete? "We've talked about doing it but have never done it," Sweeney says. "I assume you'd end up with a compromise that would be well suited to a sport like cycling, where you need a combination of endurance and power." Still, Sweeney adds, there has been little scientific reason (which translates into funding) to conduct such a study in mice, much less humans.

The Google-fication of Yahoo begins with free lunch

New Yahoo CEO Marissa Mayer is wasting no time is remaking the company into something akin to her former digs at Google.

Some of the changes Mayer is enacting immediately are free lunch at the company?s cafe and company-wide weekly meeting on Friday, according to a report by AllThingsD?s Kara Swisher. Google is of course known for doing both of these things to boost employee morale and keep up the lines of communication.

The report also indicates that Mayer wants to change the layout of Yahoo employee work spaces to make them more collaborative and (I?m guessing) less like a cubical prison ? with other perks in the works as well.

Changes like this don?t necessarily make sense to a company when looking purely at the numbers. But, Mayer has a chance to turn around not only Yahoo?s products/services, but also its underlying work culture. And a culture change at Yahoo will mean the smart, innovative workers will now get some attention, while the others will either unlock new potential or move on to somewhere similar to the old Yahoo. Either way, Mayer is definitely cultivating a new breed of Yahooers.

Perhaps what?s more interesting than new desks and free food is who Mayer will chose to help lead the company. It?s likely that at least a handful of people she used to work with at Google will make the jump to Yahoo. Beyond that, we?ll have to wait.

Exactly where did the notion that males ought to acquire homes for females come from? Many people say that this really is depending on our natural instinct. Like any other animal, parents need to safeguard their young for the continuation from the species. Anyway, asked that query because I wanted to know why business relating to real estate is all of a sudden producing becoming common. Just before you had the acquiring and promoting of properties. The term genuine estate is utilised to refer to any property, that is permanently attached to land for example buildings and homes. Most people refer to it as true house but there are scenarios wherein the term actual estate is used for the land along with the building with each other even though genuine house refers to the ownership rights of the land itself. However, the word genuine is utilised to categorize these properties as things as opposed to folks. Records show that the concept of genuine estate could be traced as far back as 1666.
With the concept of private home becoming a lot more widespread, real estate has become a significant location of business within the Usa. The truth is, economists claim that the purpose for the recent economic slump is because of the lower revenue generated by this market. In order for the US to have back on track, Americans need to view land and buildings as an investment.

This way, they get to choose the properties they want without having obtaining to travel however, thereby saving time, work and cash. In some situations, individuals speak to a genuine estate agent who can then give them a tour from the region in order that they get to determine the homes and to possibly bargain for the price tag in the house.
In US and Canada, obtaining property is easy due to the existence with the a number of listing program or MLS a data base wherein genuine estate brokers can share details in regards to the properties their customers are organizing to sell, or in some cases, planning to get. A lot of people who need to acquire a home typically have no concept where to begin so they contact a genuine estate broker. Whenever you do so, the broker searches the MLS to locate specifics regarding the home. At present, you can find about 800 various MLS in the US with new competitors like Google Base, Craigslist and Cribfinder getting into the public domain.

Samsung Galaxy S Lightray 4G hides out in the open, headed to MetroPCS

What's old is apparently new again for MetroPCS subscribers. Thanks to some leaked training materials over on Howard Forums, we have a pretty clear idea of the next Galaxy S device to bow on that budget carrier's lineup -- the Lightray 4G. No, your eyes aren't deceiving you, we've seen this exact phone before at CES 2012 where it was part of Dyle's Mobile TV showcase. And that chassis you see above? It's a mostly unaltered version of Verizon's Droid Charge, although that formerly pointed chin seems to have gotten the Ashlee Simpson treatment. Spec-wise, the 4.3-inch device reportedly packs a Super AMOLED Plus display, 1.3-megapixel front-facing / 8-megapixel rear cameras, 16GB of included microSD storage (what it'll ship with onboard is unknown), HDMI-out and, bizarrely, that aforementioned TV tuner, replete with antenna. No word on when this unofficial fella's set to go legit nor which Google OS treat it'll run, but with a recently surfaced FCC doc and company slides to go off, we're sure to find out sooner rather than later.

Greek prime minister meets austerity inspectors

ATHENS, Greece (AP) ? International austerity inspectors pressed Greece's prime minister Friday to implement new harsh cost-cutting reforms as the country faces the alternative of losing the rescue loans that are keeping the country afloat.

Antonis Samaras, whose conservative-led coalition came to power just over a month ago, is under intense pressure to stick to his predecessors' austerity commitments ? and find new areas to make cuts.

European Union, International Monetary Fund and European Central Bank officials ? known as the troika ? started a new scrutiny of Greece's austerity program this week. If their report, expected in September, is damning, Athens could stop receiving its vital rescue loans and face a disorderly bankruptcy and exit from the euro.

The debt-crippled country has been surviving on international bailouts since May 2010. To secure them, it imposed deeply resented spending cuts, slashing incomes and salaries while hiking taxes.

Government spokesman Simos Kedikoglou said the inspectors, who represent Greece's bailout creditors, briefed Samaras on "the initiatives that must be taken to ensure that the national program is brought back on track."

The hour-long meeting in Athens came a day after EU Commission President Jose Manuel Barroso exhorted Samaras to "deliver, deliver, deliver" on past Greek promises.

As part of its austerity efforts, Greece has achieved a remarkable reduction of its budget deficit from 15.8 percent in 2009 to 9.1 percent last year. However, the country is considerably off-target in other areas of reform.

Athens largely blames this on a deeper-than-anticipated recession, which could see its economic output fall by more than seven percent this year. That would bring the total economic contraction over the past five years to a crippling 20 percent ? which Samaras has likened to the Great Depression in the U.S.

A political crisis sparked by fierce rivalry between the country's main political parties stalled the reforms for three months. Politicians were only able to settle their differences and form a three-party coalition in June after two inconclusive elections.

Samaras' government must now secure approval from bailout creditors for a ?14.5 billion ($17.78 billion) package of further cost-cutting and revenue-boosting measures in 2013 and 2014. Although no details have been made public, many of the savings are expected to come from new cuts in pensions and benefits.

Greek unions have responded angrily to a series of income cuts since the crisis broke out in late 2009. The head of the main GSEE union said he and the troika officials "agreed to disagree on everything" during a meeting Friday.

"Their program has destroyed us, pushing the economy into recession and creating huge social problems, with unemployment foremost," Yiannis Panagopoulos said.

He accused the troika of presenting themselves as doctors and "proving to be charlatans and quacks" whose treatment killed the economy.

"Were they civil servants up for assessment, they would surely be sacked," he said.

On the Call: Exxon VP talks natural gas

As natural gas prices plunged this year to the lowest levels in a decade, major producers took exploration operations offline. Companies such as Chesapeake Energy Corp., ConocoPhillips and Encana Corp. decided to wait on producing more natural gas until prices rebound.

Not so for Exxon Mobil. Earlier this year, America's biggest natural gas producer was mum about whether it would cut back on natural gas exploration and production.

David Rosenthal, Exxon's vice president for investor relations, was asked again on Thursday about the company's plans for natural gas. Analysts noted that Exxon Mobil produced less natural gas in the quarter and asked how many rigs are still looking for gas, instead of crude and other hydrocarbon "liquids."

Question: What kind of deposits are Exxon's rigs drilling for in North America?

Answer: "The majority of those rigs are working on liquids and liquids rich plays, and that obviously would be a continuation of the trend that you have seen over the last few quarters," Rosenthal said.

House leaders: Drought bill may come up next week

WASHINGTON (AP) ? A House Republican leader said Thursday that the House may take up legislation next week to help farmers and ranchers hit by the drought that has parched much of the nation.

House Majority Leader Eric Cantor, R-Va., said that in the final week before Congress leaves for a five-week summer recess the House may consider legislation related to "programs and disaster assistance under the expiring farm bill."

Earlier, House Speaker John Boehner, R-Ohio, told reporters, "I do believe that the House will address the livestock disaster program."

The two leaders offered few details of the legislation, but it is expected to focus on the livestock industry. Many corn and soybean farmers are partially shielded from drought damage by crop insurance but fewer livestock producers have insurance and the main federal disaster program for them expired last year.

The drought is driving up the costs of feed, forcing some livestock farmers to reduce their stocks earlier than planned.

Neither lawmaker discussed how to pay for a revived livestock disaster relief program.

Rep. Collin Peterson of Minnesota, the top Democrat on the House Agriculture Committee, has estimated that it could cost $2.5 billion to institute a disaster program and enact a short-term extension of the current five-year farm bill, which expires at the end of September.

The Senate last month passed a $500 billion, five-year farm bill and the House Agriculture Committee this month approved a similar bill. Neither Boehner nor Cantor mentioned the possibility of the full House considering that legislation before the August break.

The GOP leaders have been reluctant to bring up the farm bill, which reauthorizes disaster relief programs, because of concerns it would be defeated.

Some House conservatives oppose the farm bill because of the federal subsidies provided to farmers and spending on the food stamp program, which makes up 80 percent of the $100 billion annual cost of the legislation. Democrats in turn are unhappy with plans to trim food stamp spending by 2 percent.

Cantor, in a floor discussion with the House's second-ranking Democrat, Rep. Steny Hoyer of Maryland, said the Senate farm bill, which has smaller cuts to the food stamp program, does not have majority support in the House. He asked Hoyer whether he would support the House version, and Hoyer said no.

Marilee, a client of mine, was commitment phobic. "I?d love to be in a loving relationship," she told me in one of our counseling sessions, "but I?m not willing to give up my freedom. I have a great life. I love my work and my friends. I love to travel and take workshops and classes. I don?t want anyone telling me what I can or can?t do. I don?t want to deal with someone feeling hurt because I want to work rather than be with him. It?s just not worth all the hassle."

Marcus, another of my clients, was also commitment phobic. "When I?m not in a relationship, that?s all I can think about it. I really want someone to play with, to love and to grow with. But soon after getting into a relationship, I start to feel trapped. I feel like I can?t do what I want to do and I start to resent the person for limiting me. Most of the time, she has no idea what?s going on and is stunned by the break-up. She thought everything was fine. After leaving her, I?m back to square one ?wanting to be in a relationship. This has happened over and over again."

Commitment phobia has its roots in the belief that when we love someone, we are responsible for their feelings rather than for our own. Once we believe that we are responsible for another?s feelings of hurt or rejection as a result of our behavior, we believe we need to limit ourselves in order to not upset the other person. Then, instead of standing up for our own freedom and right to pursue that which brings us joy, we limit our freedom in an effort to have control over mbt moto boots the other person?s feelings. This will always eventually lead to resentment.

"Marilee, " I asked in one of our phone sessions, "What if you picked someone who also loved his work and his personal freedom?"

"Frankly, I can?t imagine that. Every man I?ve been in a relationship with has wanted to spend more time with me than I have with him. Am I just picking the wrong man over and over?"

"No," I replied. "But you are not standing firm in your freedom from the beginning. You give a lot at the beginning because you enjoy being with him, but, as we?ve discussed, you also give yourself up a lot at the beginning. You make love when you don?t want to. You stay up later than you want to for fear of hurting him. Then, when you do start to tell the truth, he is surprised and hurt. Until you are willing to risk losing him from the beginning rather than lose yourself, you will continue to create relationships that limit your freedom. You end up believing that it is the relationship that limits you, but it is your own fears and beliefs that keep limiting you."

In my sessions with Marcus, he discovered that he had no idea how to stand up for himself in a relationship. As soon as a woman wanted something from him, he gave it to her. He just could not bring himself to say no. Then, of course, he ended up feeling trapped.

Marcus discovered that his fear of saying no to a woman came from two sources:

The Iraq war is a conflict between the United States of America and Iraq. In the year 2003, during the month of March, the United States army invaded Iraq. The main reason and cause for the Iraq war was Iraq development of weapons of mass destruction. The Iraqis supposedly were working on developing nuclear weapons, which was creating a threat to the security of the United States of America.

It was during the year 2003 that the president of the United States of America thought that waiting longer could create a nuisance and hence the invasion was planned .

The main cause of the war in Iraq was the information that the US got regarding the development of the weapon of mass destruction in Iraq. However, contrary to the information, the Iraq was not found to hold any such weapons.

There are a number of claims made by the US intelligence and its officials that say that the United states invasion of Iraq was due to the contacts that the US though, Saddam Hussein had with Al Quadi, which is a major terrorist activity group. Other officials said that under Saddam rule human rights were not respected in Iraq. All mbt moja these claims were put up by the US Officials to support the war between Iraq and the United States of America.

Moreover, Iraq was limiting oil it supplied to other countries from being used in the military services.

The fact that Iraq was going to start an Oil Bourse excluding the US dollar did not help any.

As far as the claims are concerned, none of the claims were true. It is interesting to know that on 20 March 2003 the US army along with the army officials of UK and some other allies invaded the Iraq. The invasion was made to get rid of Saddam Hussein rule in Iraq. The US army and the armies of the other allies of US were successful in defeating the army lead by Saddam Hussein in a very short span of time. Iraq was occupied and conquered by the US army, and for a short time, a small coalition government was found to have the situation under control. However, the coalition government was unable to maintain order. This led the Iraqi Insurgents to take up war with the US.

Most of the members of the coalition government decided to withdraw from the government and this led to failure. There are scant details of the causes leading to the invasion, and there are a large number of discrepancies and uncertainty related to this topic. Moreover, the consequences are also not clearly visible and still remain a mystery.

There are no official reports or statements that the US could provide to support the war, and its invasion in Iraq. This war has made a large number of people suffer, as there were a number of causalities have been reported in Iraq, as well as the United States military.

UCSF study shows increased complications compared to non-diabetics

Women with diabetes are just as likely to be interested in, and engage in, sexual activity as non-diabetic women, but they are much more likely to report low overall sexual satisfaction, according to a UCSF study.

The researchers also found that diabetic women receiving insulin treatment were at higher risk for the specific complications of lubrication and orgasm. "Diabetes is a recognized risk factor for erectile dysfunction in men, but there have been almost no data to indicate whether it also affects sexual function in women," said senior author Alison J. Huang, MD, MAS, of the UCSF Women's Health Clinical Research Center and an assistant professor in the UCSF Department of Medicine.

The study is available online in the journal Obstetrics and Gynecology. http://journals.lww.com/greenjournal/Abstract/2012/08000/Diabetes_Mellitus_and_Sexual_Function_in.21.aspx

Huang, lead author Kelli Copeland, BA, of the UCSF Women's Health Clinical Research Center, and their colleagues sought to examine the relationship of diabetes to sexual function in an ethnically diverse group of middle-aged and older women.

The disease has the potential to affect sexual function in women through a variety of mechanisms. These include vascular changes in the urogenital tissues affecting lubrication, and alterations in genital arousal response. Sexual function also may be adversely affected by diabetes medications or other interventions directed at monitoring or treating the disease, according to the research team.

The researchers sent a questionnaire to 2,270 women aged 40 to 80 years who were insulin-treated diabetic, non-insulin-treated diabetic or non diabetic women, and then compared their self-reported sexual desire, frequency of sexual activity, overall sexual satisfaction, and specific sexual problems (difficulty with lubrication, arousal, orgasm, or pain). They also assessed the relationships between diabetic end-organ complications (heart disease, stroke, renal dysfunction, and peripheral neuropathy) and sexual function.

Among the 2,270 participants, 486 (21.4 percent) had diabetes, and, of those, 139 (6.1 percent) were taking insulin. Overall, 63.7 percent of participants reported some sexual activity in the past three months. The odds of reporting low overall sexual satisfaction were more than two-fold higher in insulin-treated diabetic women, and more than 40 percent higher in non-insulin treated diabetic women, compared to non-diabetic women.

No significant differences in sexual desire or frequency of sexual activity by diabetes status were observed, after the investigators took into account other differences in participants' demographic background and medical histories.

Among sexually active women, insulin-treated diabetic women were more than twice as likely to report difficulty with lubrication, and 80 percent more likely to report difficulty achieving orgasm compared to non-diabetic women, after adjusting for the same demographic and clinical factors.

Among all diabetic women, end-organ complications such as heart disease, stroke, renal dysfunction, and peripheral neuropathy were associated with decreased sexual function in at least one domain.

The study did not examine whether the women had Type 1 or Type 2 diabetes, but the researchers assume that because of age of diagnosis, and when they started insulin, that the majority of participants had Type 2 diabetes.

Previous studies have suggested that psychological factors, such as depression, play a role in sexual dysfunction among diabetic women. The UCSF team did not assess the impact of depression on female sexual function in this study, but did adjust for antidepressant use among participants since it can worsen sexual function. The team found that relationships between diabetes and sexual function were independent of anti-depression therapy.

Diabetes is a common chronic condition in the United States. According to the American Diabetes Association, 12.6 million or 10.8 percent of all women aged 20 years or older have diabetes.

"Based on this research, clinicians may want to consider assessing diabetic women for sexual problems, particularly among those taking insulin, and counsel them that prevention of end-organ complications may be important in preserving sexual function," said Copeland.

The researchers used data from the Reproductive Risks of Incontinence Study at Kaiser 2, comprised of women enrolled in the northern California Kaiser system, in addition to the Northern California Kaiser Permanente Diabetes Registry.

Seeking to Improve Your Online Business? - Web Design Company ...

As an online marketer, there are so many ways that you could make your business propagate. Perhaps, you have already spent much money, time and effort just so you could keep up with the ever-changing trends and also the ferocity of your numerous competitors. Well, sometimes, since you have long-delved into this business and are already getting the hang of it, online marketers tend to forget even the most basic methods of product promotion and marketing.

One of the most basic and inexpensive (yet very effective) means of online marketing is e-mail marketing. This may sound crude to the seasoned online marketers, but hey, it has been proven as ?still? one of the most effective means of increasing the number of closed sales. First, to be able to know how to use e-mail marketing, you must be introduced to the three ways that it can be done: through newsletter advertising, bulk e-mails, and opt-in e-mails.

Newsletter marketing is the most effective among the three methods. If you are ascertained that you have completed a killer layout and a subtle sales pitch, it is very likely that the recipient of the message would become a buyer. Newsletters can be made to fit the recipient. For instance, there are separate newsletters for different people from different walks of life such as doctors, writers, teachers, managers, even housewives.

It is imperative that your newsletter is brief yet full of information. A good way to come up with an effective newsletter is to work on the layout. Make sure that it stirs the visual senses as well as the intellect of the recipient. One good look at a newsletter and most educated people know that they are just being led to buy something-and most people hate that notion so try to avoid it as much as you can.

Bulk e-mails are hated by many recipients because they appear to be legitimate e-mails (well, they are in your perspective) yet when they open them, they encounter a sales pitch. To hold onto a recipient?s attention (you have a good ten seconds to do it), make sure that no hard selling is done. Make everything subtle just ascertain that the product?s good points and the benefits that they are going to get when they purchase it are highlighted and those should do the trick. If not, then there are a million reasons why that reader has deleted your e-mail.

Opt-in e-mail marketing can be compared to its brother-bulk e-mail marketing. It is the better brother, though, since it takes much more time and preparation to come up with an e-mail address directory for opt-ins. Do not hesitate to make good use of this method since it can also be very effective. This has been proven to build a good clientele base which would stay with you for as long as you deliver great things to them (and think of the many possible referrals that you can get out of these people!).

Now, here are a few tips on how to effectively use any one of these methods in e-mail marketing:

1. Be simple and direct on your product presentation. Make sure to encapsulate all the needed information on a page where prospective buyers can peruse in just a few seconds.

2. Treat all of your subscribers with deep respect. They are, after all, the ones that provide your bread and butter.

3. Take very good care of your e-mail list. Once most of them become buyers, you should work hard on stuff that you could give to them for free and also other bonuses. These usually make loyal customers out of your buyers.

4. Make sure to keep your customers updated with constant news and updates on your product. Just make sure not to bombard them with unnecessary e-mails as these might make them click and delete all your messages.

5. Be bold and unique in your e-mail presentation. Make sure that your e-mails stand out from the rest of the e-mails that your customers receive.

Even the most experienced internet marketers can still benefit from the simplest methods. E-mail marketing maybe basic and cheap but it can still rake in the benjamins so why don?t you give it a try?

Police struggle to identify Bulgaria suicide bomber

Bulgarian police, the FBI and Interpol are struggling to identify a suicide bomber who killed six people, including five Israelis, as the US said the attack bore the "hallmarks" of Hezbollah.

Investigators have released CCTV footage of the person they believe carried out Wednesday's attack in the Black Sea airport of Burgas on a bus carrying Israeli holidaymakers, which also claimed the life of the Bulgarian driver.

After two days of investigations, Interior Minister Tsvetan Tsvetanov was only able to confirm Friday that the bomber was "not a Bulgarian citizen" and had been in the country "not less than four days".

Fingerprints and DNA samples from the suspected bomber's body were being used in the effort to learn his identity, he added.

The minister also made public Friday evening some scanty details on the explosive used in the first attack of its kind in Bulgaria.

"We are speaking about trotile, about three kilogrammes. Analyses are continuing," he told state BNT television.

Trotile is made from Trinitrotoluene or TNT -- a common material in military bombs and also frequently used in attacks by militant groups.

Israel and Bulgaria meanwhile held emotional funerals for the victims -- Israelis Kochava Shriki, 44, who was pregnant, Yitzhik Kolengi, Amir Menashe, Elior Priess and Maor Harush, all in their 20s, and the Bulgarian driver of the bus Mustafa Kyosov, 36.

More than 30 people were also injured in the blast, three of them seriously, all of whom have since been repatriated, as have around 60 others who escaped injury. Some opted to continue their holiday in the Black Sea resorts popular with Israelis.

US President Barack Obama pledged solidarity with Bulgaria over the "barbaric attack," echoing indignation from around the world.

In a telephone call with Bulgarian Prime Minister Boyko Borisov, Obama "offered his support for the ongoing investigation, and for the Bulgarian people in this challenging time," the White House said in a statement.

On Wednesday, Obama had phoned Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to offer his condolences and support.

Israel has blamed Iran and Tehran's "terrorist proxy" Hezbollah, saying it fitted a pattern of other recent attacks or attempted attacks on Israelis including in Thailand, India, Georgia, Kenya and Cyprus.

The Islamic Republic, already under pressure over growing international tensions over its nuclear programme, rejected Israel's accusations as "ridiculous".

"The attack does bear some of the hallmarks of Hezbollah but we're not in a position to make any final determination on who was responsible," Pentagon press secretary George Little told reporters on Friday.

Airport video footage of the presumed suicide bomber released by Bulgarian authorities showed an apparently white male with long hair, possibly a wig, dressed in typical holiday gear -- shorts, a baseball cap, sneakers -- and carrying a backpack and a laptop bag.

Tsvetanov said the man, who was shown wandering around the airport, looked around 36. Investigators have also recovered his driving licence from the US state of Michigan that is thought to be fake.

The name on the licence, an image of which was shown on Bulgarian television, is Jacque Felipe Martin of Baton Rouge, Louisiana, born in 1987. Michigan is known to only issue licences to state residents.

Bulgarian prosecutor Kalina Chapkanova told private bTV television Friday that the suspect had used the fake licence when he tried to rent a car in the nearby town of Pomorie the day before the attack.

The car rental owner turned him down as the document seemed suspicious.

She also cited witnesses as saying that he spoke English with an accent, possibly an Arab one.

The owners of the car rental agency confirmed that the man who tried to hire a vehicle had very short hair, dark skin and "looked like an Arab." He also did not resemble the photo on the licence, which showed someone with long hair.

Interpol has sent an "incident response team" to Bulgaria including two "terrorism" experts from Switzerland and France and a US explosives specialist. European police agency Europol was also assisting.

The explosion ripped through the bus as around 50 Israeli tourists arriving from Tel Aviv were loading their bags before travelling to nearby holiday and gambling resort Sunny Beach.

The bomber struck on the 18th anniversary of an attack on a Jewish community centre in Argentina that killed 85 people.

Best IT Certifications For 2012 | Computer and Gadgets Review

An IT ratification is no ordinary exam. It is not an easy case of studying from textbooks and study material. IT Authentications need a good combination of practical and technical understanding. While majority are multiple choice questions, some authentications require a practical examination or on-job experience. In the ever changing IT market of today, a certification is an important bit of paper, for both experienced and fresh applicants. In this post, the best IT authentications for 2012 are listed below, with a short description of each.

Why is an IT Authorization Needed?

Certifications provide that much needed edge, which differentiates one professional from the other. It gives experienced workers an opportunity to update themselves in their various special fields. Rather than going in for another degree, they can add to their schooling with a validation. Licenses prove how dedicated a professional is to the field they work in.

For fresh graduates, it gives them a hiring benefit over their competition. It is a given IT industry fact, that an inexperienced but authorized pro, is a smarter choice than a uncertified one. A certificate can be employed as a evidence of competency. And for the green, certification knowledge is more valuable for a job, than what they could have learned during their education. For instance, during a four-year degree course in engineering, one learns a little different languages, like Java or SQL.
