Television host Ed Sullivan ruled the airwaves for two decades, despite critics? claims that the ?talentless? former newspaper columnist brought nothing special to his variety show duties. But Sullivan endured and remains one of TV?s legends because of his knack for identifying new talent and presenting it to an expectant audience.

A similar tale can be told about Sullivan?s weekend home in the Southbury, CT real estate market. The 4-bedroom, 3-bathroom home at 367 N Georges Hill Rd, Southbury, CT 06488?is listed for sale for $460,000.
Situated on almost 2 acres, the property captured the imagination of Sullivan, a native New Yorker who was sold on the 3,600-square-foot home once he saw the beamed ceiling in the large, working kitchen.
Bethel Patch found pictures from a 1956 edition of American Home featuring Sullivan and his wife at the home. Sullivan died in 1974, but the home remained in his family estate until it was sold in 2008 for $520,000.
According to listing agent JoAnn Bredenberg of Coldwell Banker,?the home was part of a larger estate built in 1920. It was on this farm that Sullivan kept Guernsey and Holstein cows, whose milk he sold.
While the farm property was subsequently subdivided and the home has undergone renovations, the same slate floors and rustic quality that attracted Sullivan to the place can still be seen.
