The Patriots entered the bottom of the sixth trailing 3-2 but Gunter's RBI single put them ahead to stay. Fuentes knocked in two runs with a triple and Hamer had an RBI double.
Fuentes also pitched the first four innings. He allowed three hits, three unearned runs and two walks and struck out three. Walker Perry pitched the final three innings. He had eight strikeouts while allowing just one hit.
Anthony Bosser provided the Patriots more offense, going 2 for 4.

Douglass Middle School 4, Homes 0 -- The host Lions received goals from Maria Gonzalez, Ally Martin, Dhamaris DeLaCruz and Tanya Rodriguez and increased their scoring advantage this season to 13-0 in four games. Helping forge the shutout on defense were Rachel May, Alicia Pimentel and Cassandra Figueroa. Douglass plays Esparto on Tuesday.
Boys soccer
Douglass Middle School 5, Holmes 4 -- After building leads of 3-0 and 5-2, the Lions (3-0) held on to edge the visitors from Davis. Geral Chavez scored twice for Douglass, Michael Lopez and Julian Ramirez had goals in the first half and Jovanni Morales converted a penalty kick for the hosts' final goal. Douglass hosts Esparto Tuesday at 4 p.m.
